Normally, we do not right much on the topic of competitors and companies but after I was registering a new domain name (HybridSEO.net) for our company, ImproveTrafficNow.com on Godaddy, I learned that Bob Parsons of Godaddy had approved a price hike in .net and .org domains. .Net domains are bought through the Verisign at a wholesale price of 4.23 before the icann fees (Around 30 Cents). At first I thought it was some form of recouping their loss on a 20 off coupon that I used, which I can understand because a lot of companies do. Now, that does not mean I approve of price spiking because of Coupons and ImproveTrafficNow.com does nothing of the sort but I do understand why a company would make this decision. So, I called Godaddy and I was told, “I don’t have any reason for the price changes.” Which leaves me with two things: A: The price went up from 9.99 to 12.99, a few months ago and again has been spiked from 12.99 to 14.99. This seams a little of point for GoDaddy and Wild West Domains, as there owner Bob Parsons has a whole site which he preforms video blogs on and bashes Network Solutions and Verisign for their high Domain and SSL prices. Huh. The owner of Godaddy bashes other companies for high prices and than raises the prices of his domains. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me but once again a prime example of Bob Parsons.

As per the news, Versign was to hike price by only 7%. But Godaddy hiked it from $9.99 to $14.99! OMG!
Well, thats a price hike for no reason. Where even small registrars like Hosting3i.com are still selling .net/.org domains for $9 bucks. I will just quit using Godaddy and transfer domains to low priced registrar.
